The more I deconstructed the intersecting identities that form who I am, and who my peers are, the more I encountered indigenous/traditional/ancestral systems of healing and knowledge that made me aware of the true wholeness of the being. An awareness that is expansive and of sacrifice and pure surrender to change. this awareness is a remembering of the sacred memories and lifetimes within us. It is accepting our oneness with the all. It is deprogramming from neo colonial normativity. it is embracing the spiritual medicine.
It is an invitation to truly see a balanced and whole version of yourself. Many indigenous teachings believe in the existence of an energy body and that building and maintaining an awareness of the state of that body is important for optimal health. The energy body is a multi-system related to the systems of the physical, mental, and emotional body. They are connected to one another through the neurological, endocrine, and meridian systems, and many other systems supported by different teachings. Energy awareness is the ability to intuitively know what fuels the body as a whole. There are different external and internal factors that influence the state of our bodies, the states of ourselves, which makes us all distinctively unique.
In this work, i present an abstract spectrum of states of mind and body. i call on the healing of the body, the sacredness of water, the fluidity of self as an energy being, and the remembering of indigenous/traditional methods of healing. Ahe work analyzes the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness. The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality. A strong communication system with its own language and infinite ways of expression. The inner landscapes are abstract, infinite, and conceptual, associated with a sense of freedom and infinite expansion. Primarily experienced with the mind, not separate from spirit, we can redefine our limits and borders, transforming our concept of the body, mind, and soul, the human identity and physical existence.
Each work is an event and conversation that portrays someone’s inner landscape such as an auric photograph would do. This internal picture, coming both from an internal and external analysis, is the astral body that connects us to everything and everyone. Each inner landscape is linked to the universal outer landscape that we are as a human collective, as participants in nature and the cosmic universe.
